There is nothing called privacy in modern
The breach of privacy has
been taken to a new level in the U.S. by the officials of the Transportation Security Administration. TSA officials at airports
are now permitted to check the intimate parts of passengers using their palms
and fingers. Are you feeling disgusted? But it is the truth.
TSA has already been in
the middle of a huge controversy regarding the use of full body scanners. These
scanners are capable of peeping through the clothes of passengers and providing
the picture of their uncovered body. TSA claims that these are done for
security reasons but it cannot be denied that such security measures interfere
with your privacy.
Another instance of
jeopardizing personal freedom and privacy by government officials is the
installation of smart meters in U.S. households. Natural News reports that the city
officials of Naperville , Illinois have started to deploy police officers with
utility crews while installing smart meters. In fact, two women who resisted
the installation of smart meters on their homes were arrested by the police.
Government officials claim
that smart meters will make the electric system of the city more efficient,
reliable and cost effective. But others claim that these meters can be used as
an instrument of surveillance as they collect information like the number of
persons in the house, their daily routine and other details.
