“Patient Dumping” – Is it the new way the Government is taking care of its inherent responsibilities?
According to Natural News, the
“patient-dumping” issue started by the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las
Vegas has brought to light how these incidents are occurring in the United
States of America. We can never be sure that other cities and states are not
doing the same until another similar incident is reported. Sad but true, this abuse
has really happened. The officials in California began investigating this issue
in February 2013 after a patient landed at a Sacramento homeless facility,
confused and suicidal. Through their research, they found that since July 2008,
this hospital has bussed more than 1,500 patients to other cities, of which 1/3rd
have traveled to California.
And the sad part is, not only are
these patients mentally ill, but they also don’t have any relevant documents
with them. “Patient dumping” takes place when the hospital treating them has no
idea what to do with them anymore, so they ship them off to another area
without informing anyone, and when the patients are left at that new place,
they are basically rendered homeless.

The problem doesn't stop with the
patients being rendered homeless without any proper care and treatment; the
situation is so bad that many of the individuals have had to resort to
thieving. And don’t think that those who are resorting to such measures are
sick. They are healthy and fit, but the fact remains that the U.S economy is
not fit. With the unemployment rate at 7.6 percent, people are even resorting
to stealing spare tires, which they then sell off at a decent price.
As per CBS Denver “Thieves
are targeting the spare tires that are on the backs of SUVs and under pickup
trucks. The wheels are easy to steal because it takes only seconds to get them
off a car, and the thieves can sell them fairly easily.”
